Bea Stewart Releases New Single ‘Talking To Your Sunflowers’

Announces ‘Sorry I’m So Sensitive’ EP Released 12th April

‘Talking To Your Sunflowers’ is the new single from Northern Irish singer-songwriter Bea Stewart and arrives with the announcement of her new EP ‘Sorry I’m So Sensitive’’. Produced by Oskar Winberg  (Cian Ducrot,Ward Thomas) and out on Kin Records, the release follows last year’s single ‘I Don’t Want To Love You Anymore’, also featured on the 4 track collection. In support of the EP release, Bea has also announced a 4 date UK tour.

Although only her second EP, Bea has already picked up support from BBC Radio 1, Wonderland, Amazing Radio, Notion and Earmilk, as well as featuring on Spotify’s coveted New Music Friday 3 times and selling out headline shows in both London and her hometown of Belfast. All testament to her intrinsic ability to connect with people with moving and perceptive storytelling.

The new single, another gorgeous, folk influenced pop song that perfectly showcases Bea’s gentle vocals, tinged with her Belfast accent, is a touching message to her father about leaving home and arrives with a video directed by Marieke Maclon. Speaking about the track, Bea says

“I moved away from home at an age where I was technically a grown up but still had a lot of growing up to do (and I still do)! I’m very close to my dad and I know that he really misses having his kids around (he even started gardening and was caught more than once talking to the plants). I guess I wrote this song to say that I see that it’s hard for him and that it’s hard for me too. I didn’t just leave home and become a thriving adult and leave my childhood and everyone in it behind. Sometimes I think about what my dad would say if he had a front row seat to my everyday life. Sometimes it’s a reminder to be kind to myself, sometimes it’s a kick up the arse but it’s always helpful and always comforting. I’m still figuring a lot of things out and am very grateful to have my parents cheering me on.”

With a 4 date tour in the works and tracks from the EP due to be released over the coming weeks, 2024 is starting to look like Bea’s year.

The tracklist for ‘Sorry I’m So Sensitive’ is:

1. I Don’t Wanna Love You Anymore

2. Talking To Your Sunflowers

3. Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself

4. Jake from Minnesota
